So although Easter is still a month away, today our school’s National Honours Society hosted their annual Easter party for faculty children.
Month: March 2011
7 Months Old ~212 days old
We had a busy, fun-filled day today and I actually didn’t take a single photo until bedtime rolled around… The days just seem to fly by right now, and somehow our little girl is already 7 months old.
Here’s what our little doodlebug is up to right now:
• She continues to LOVE bath time and being in her jumper
• She absolutely adores being taken out to parks, malls, and grocery stores where she can people watch and investigate new things
• She is very happily exploring all kinds of new foods (and textures, spices, and herbs) and now eats brown rice cereal, avocado, rice rusks, banana, butternut squash, spinach, apple slices, sweet potato, peas, and chunky applesauce (asparagus, chickpeas, and beets are next!)
• She loves sucking on ice cubes in her mesh feeder
• She constantly babbles and smiles when interacting with people
• She can just about sit on her own, however she still sometimes topples backwards, so she has to have someone very close by
• She can support her full weight on her chubby little legs
• She often sleeps with her feet up on the bars of her crib and never wakes up in the position she was put down in
• She still sleeps through the night for about 11 or 12 hours, but she’s now waking up to eat around 3 or 4 a.m. (I think we’re amidst a little growth spurt)
• She gives the best sloppy open-mouth kisses EVER
• She is still obsessed with water and water bottles, and is now enjoying little sips of water now and then
• She is also completely obsessed with tags and is able to find them on anything (often times she’d rather play with the tag than the toy!)
• She just recently discovered birds and shadows and is completely captivated by both
Park Play Date ~211 days old
We’ve been enjoying the cooler weather now for a couple of weeks, but it seems like our time may have come to an end… Today was HOT. Hopefully our park play date days don’t come to an end toooo quickly…
The Talented Houdini ~210 days old
Gracen’s been swaddled while sleeping since the day she was born. Just recently, I discovered a really cool product called the Woombie, and with the help of Nona and Grandma Charlotte, got a couple to Kuwait to try out. Yes, I realize that it is essentially a baby straightjacket, but don’t judge me… Grae starting sleeping for 11 hours through the night when she was 6 weeks old, and that’s what’s important. :) It’s hard to tell from this picture, but the Woombie is basically a peanut-shaped garment that zips up and snaps high around the baby’s neck, leaving them comfy cozy in a womb-like environment. You’d think that this thing would be Houdini-proof… But no, not for our little escape artist! She managed to wriggle her arm up and out of the tiny little neck hole after not just one, but TWO naps today. What a little monkey!
Meandering in Mahboula ~209 days old
Gracen is snuggled up and ready to see what kind of adventures today’s walk brings.
Comfy Cozy ~208 days old
Tonight Gracen parked her little tukus right in the bend of Papa’s waist and spent some time telling him all about her day.
Numéro Trois ~208 days old
This third little beauty popped up out of nowhere today! I swear – I looked yesterday and it wasn’t there. Surely I would have noticed it when I brushed Grae’s gums/teeth last night? Is it possible that it popped up in just one day? On a sad note, our baby girl has three teeth… She’s growing up way too quickly for this mama’s liking. :(
Sweet Potato Face ~208 days old
Today Papa and Grandma Charlotte introduced Gracen to sweet potatoes. Although she didn’t seem overly enthused about it, she ate bite after bite and finished off the whole container. :)
Coffee Date ~208 days old
Just hanging out like a big girl at Starbucks… No big deal!
Mmmm… Apple! ~208 days old
Gracen got an apple slice off of Mama’s breakfast plate this morning and boy, did she ever enjoy it!
Tulips ~207 days old
Fresh flowers aren’t overly abundant here in Kuwait, but with Arab Mother’s Day just around the corner, flowers are everywhere right now. Today we picked up these tulips while out for breakfast. I don’t think Gracen has ever seen real flowers before…
A Day with GC ~206 days old
What a busy, fun-filled first day we had with Grandma Charlotte! It all started with some long awaited hugs and snuggles… Happy Gracen, happy Grandma!
Grandma Charlotte Arrives! ~206 days old
We are so lucky that both Grandmas were able to make the long trek to Kuwait this year. This morning we packed up Baby G and headed to the airport bright and early to pick up Grandma Charlotte. :)
First St. Patrick’s Day ~205 days old
To celebrate this little leprechaun’s first ever St. Patrick’s Day, we decided to get together with some friends.
Picnic in the Park ~205 days old
Unfortunately, I didn’t take out my camera until we were packing up, but today Gracen and I spent the majority of the day walking and picnic-ing in the park with some friends. The weather was beautiful, and the food and company were even better. Luckily Grae was fully clothed and wearing a huge sunhat, because her Mama came home with a very pink nose and forehead! :)
