We arrived at Terminal 2 of the Dubai airport around 11 a.m. for our 1 p.m. flight… Little did we know, Kuwait was amidst a huge sandstorm and the airport had been shut down… What do you do? We ate…

After a quick few days in Dubai, we packed up and got ready to head home to sandy Kuwait. Gracen had her passport ready (thanks to Auntie Rozi and Uncle Gary for the very cute cover!) and we were off to the airport.

Tonight we headed to the Mall of Emirates to meet our friends Patrick and Jennifer, and their son Aidan, for dinner. Although she doesn’t look that into it in this photo, Gracen had an awesome view. The restaurant had several big windows that looked directly into Ski Dubai, and we were lucky enough to be seated right in front of one.

Today we decided to take a break from the malls and being indoors. We jumped into a cab and headed to a nearby park to enjoy some sun and nature. :)

This afternoon we decided to visit the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, and we were so happy we did. Grae truly loved meandering through and seeing all of the creatures.

After a cozy night of 3 in a king size bed (the crib the hotel provided us with is a disaster waiting to happen), Gracen is dressed, fed, and ready for her first full day of adventure in Dubai!

‘Guess what guys…’

Every good Saturday requires a few minutes of nothing but rest and relaxation on the couch.

Gracen Girl no longer stays put. She’s a busy little thing. She’s constantly turning, flipping, yanking, and shoving things in her mouth. So today when I needed to finish her packing for Dubai, I turned on some music, plunked her in her crib, and quickly packed up her suitcase. She was perfectly fine with that.

This morning after breakfast, the three of us snuck back into bed for a little family snuggle, and our tired little lady fell asleep right then and there. This may not seem noteworthy, but as of now, we actively put Grae to bed. She never falls asleep on her own, even when she is utterly exhausted.

Just another day at the office… She’s obviously her Mama and Papa’s little girl. :)

As long as you don’t mind wet, slobbery kisses that smack into your face with more force than required, Miss Grae gives the best kisses in the land. :)

Just recently, Papa taught Gracen how to “wrestle” (insert Mama’s ‘oh dear’ here). Today’s match started out like this…

Today’s solid food time began great. Gracen enjoyed some Saudi sweet melon and was happily eating her spiced applesauce. But a couple of minutes in, she grew distracted and a little bit whiny. It took us a couple of minutes, but we soon realized what she had her eye on. There was half of an apple on the table in front of her, and she couldn’t have been more desperate for it. Turns out, the little lady got what she wanted, and was instantly satisfied. :)
