Good question, Peggy! I don’t know what we’ll do in future years, but this year we did the whole trick-or-treating thing, but infused her goodie bag with little pouches of healthier treats along the way (nuts, freeze-dried fruit, wild rice sticks, stickers, stamps, pretzels, etc.) When we got home, we explained that some of the things would be for Mama and Papa to keep and some would be for her. We dumped it all out and she sorted everything into two piles – no help or explanation needed! :)
