My gosh it’s been cold in the Okanagan already… The other day, after a two degree school drop-off, I actually told Brad that I don’t know how I’m going to make it through the winter up here. My bones are chattering just at the thought of several months in the negative temperatures – brrrr! All I have to say is thank goodness for fire places, fuzzy slippers, cozy blankets, and hot lattes. Thankfully the kiddos don’t seem to be as bothered by the cold as I am, though they’ll very happily take a steamed milk anytime one is offered. Lately I’ve been making them these delicious maple spice steamers on chilly mornings and crisp afternoons and they’ve just been loving them.

The ingredient list is really simple… Milk of your choice {we use almond, coconut, or cow’s milk}, a little bit of pure maple syrup, some good vanilla {I love this stuff | find it here if you’re in Canada}, some cinnamon, and the tiniest bit of nutmeg.
Making steamers at home couldn’t be easier. Just pop all of the ingredients into a small pot and warm over medium heat while whisking fairly regularly.
Then pour the milk into cups and invite your little ones to enjoy.
Our home is very rarely silent, but I can always count on a couple of minutes of quiet when my noisy two have one of these in their hands. {We love using these mason jars with these lids for kids’ cups. Find them in Canada here and here.}
Maple Spice Steamer for Kids
- 2 cups of your favourite milk
- 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of good vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
Add all of the ingredients to a small saucepan and warm gently over medium heat. Serve immediately.
If it makes it easier, you can also mix the ingredients together cold and keep your maple spice steamer mix in the fridge until you’re ready to warm it up.

YUM!!!
Thanks for sharing this post with us. There is a lot of controversies and rumors regarding the brexit rules in the European Union! During the pandemic situation, these rules have come down slightly slow over the engaged countries. Most of the official tasks have become online since last March and I found this site useful since it allows people for live streaming video chatting opportunities over the world. Therefore, they could continue their online work as well as entertaining with others.
