It’s become somewhat of a yearly tradition for Miss G and I to make fun homemade bird feeders for our feathered friends each winter. As much as I’m {admittedly} not a huge bird lover, I certainly don’t want them to go hungry while their usual food sources are scarce or unavailable. Plus, our little lady adores them and that’s enough for me.
Over the course of her 3 years, Grae and I have made many different kinds of fun and easy bird feeders, but these crunchy bird seed cookies are a definite favourite. What’s not to love? They’re made of 3 ingredients, they usually disappear completely {our birdies tend to take the jute or twine for nest building purposes, I think}, and they’re cute as all get out. Plus, you can change up the shapes based on the season and corresponding holidays – fun, right? {Okay, and maybe a little geeky too…}
The ‘magic’ ingredient may surprise you {it sure as heck surprised me}, but just go with it. I promise they’ll turn out.
Here are a few from our latest batch…
Cool, right?
