We are so lucky that both Grandmas were able to make the long trek to Kuwait this year. This morning we packed up Baby G and headed to the airport bright and early to pick up Grandma Charlotte. :)

To celebrate this little leprechaun’s first ever St. Patrick’s Day, we decided to get together with some friends.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take out my camera until we were packing up, but today Gracen and I spent the majority of the day walking and picnic-ing in the park with some friends. The weather was beautiful, and the food and company were even better. Luckily Grae was fully clothed and wearing a huge sunhat, because her Mama came home with a very pink nose and forehead! :)

Mama: “Gracen, this is your Grandma Charlotte. Remember her? She’s coming to visit us in just two days!”

As I’ve mentioned before, Baby G has shown a desire to be independent quite a bit sooner than we expected… And in the last couple of days, we’ve come across something else we weren’t quite ready for.

Right now, Gracen gets one solid food “meal” a day… Only about a tablespoon each afternoon – not for the nutrition, but simply as an introduction to food. So far, she happily eats brown rice cereal, fresh avocado, mashed banana, and roasted butternut squash.

Have I mentioned how much we love this cherry blossom mural? It was painted by our very talented friend and coworker, Grit, especially for Baby G. Not only is it beautiful, cheerful, and calming all in one, but it reminds us of the beautiful cherry blossom trees that line the streets in our favourite Canadian city – Vancouver.

Roasted butternut squash! We introduced Grae to the gooey orange goodness a few days back, and it was by far our best food introduction to date!

Gracen has always enjoyed spending time in her jumper, but lately she’s been really loving it.

Gracen steppin’ out on Saturday in her little old man inspired attire. There would have been no convincing strangers that she really is a little girl today… :)

Has Mama lost her marbles? Perhaps. Today Gracen’s nap schedule, in combination with my tutoring schedule, left for very little time together before bedtime. What do you do when you’re short on time? You multitask! The outcome – dinner in the tub. :)

Okay, so it’s taken me a couple of weeks (gheez, mom – figure things out more quickly next time), but I may have discovered the secret to getting Grae to happily eat solids tonight.
