This morning, after two months of outdoor meet-ups {gotta enjoy the cool weather while we have it!}, our play school co-op resumed its usual themed indoor play dates. Grae and I were lucky enough to be the first hosts, and with our focus being on favourite children’s books this month, we got to plan a morning around Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Since we’ve explored caterpillars and butterflies quite a bit and even raised them in the past, Grae and I were definitely excited. Our morning consisted of reading the book as a group, creating paper plate butterfly life cycles using pasta, making flying butterfly blowers and testing them out, plus some butterfly garden play dough fun and lots of free play.
Here’s a peek at our morning…
{this activity is so much fun… more to come soon!}
{of course my little lady had to be appropriately dressed for the theme too!}
{find these fun fruit printables here}
I cannot wait to do this in a class! I love the playdough and fruit activity! Love it love it!
