Without a functioning recycling system where we live, I tend to hoard recyclables in hopes of putting them to good use at some point. Tin cans, cardboard flat packs, paper rolls, glass milk bottles… You name it, we’ve got it.
Well, with Earth Day on the horizon, we seem to be on a roll with creating things with our recyclables. Not only did we put a bunch of our glass bottles to good use when we made a rainbow water xylophone earlier this week, but we also created an upcycled shoebox dollhouse with a box we’ve had in our laundry room for over a year now {no joke}.
It turned out absolutely adorably and the best part is that Miss G and I really enjoyed the process of creating it together.
We even created a couple of very simple peg dolls to live in our house {one of which Miss G promptly lost, but that’s another story}.
And not only has Grae been enjoying her shoebox dollhouse during independent playtimes…
But she’s also been loving taking it with us while out and about {hence the lost peg doll} and it’s been so nice to have in the car while stuck in Kuwait’s awful traffic.
