Literally covered head to toe.

What a monkey. Grae snuck off tonight and the house was quiet for several minutes. I knew she was in her room, so I just let her be. Proud as a peacock, this is how she reappeared.
♥
Tonight, as we’re chatting while getting her ready for bed…
Mama: Grae, are you a big girl or a little girl?
Gracen: Grae Grae HAPPY girl!
♥
At random times throughout the day (with a little punch of enthusiasm in her voice and the tiniest of smirks upon her face):
“Booyah, Papa!”
♥
These foam face shapes are meant to go on the bath tub walls, but Gracen thinks putting them on her face and having me take photos for her to look at is just as hilarious. I must say, I agree.
♥
This happened today…
Gracen got a hold of my phone for no more than 2 seconds this evening and managed to text her Papa “Iraq”. Maybe she’s weighing in on her choice of future overseas locations?
Hmmmm…

Just after coming our of the Kits Beach washroom…
Gracen: (while pointing down the walking path towards Starbucks) Mama, hot tea?
Mama: No thanks, Grae. Mama doesn’t want hot tea right now.
Gracen: (gently nods her head a few times as if to sympathize with my response, then blurts out) Grae Grae, yes hot milk!
She then gave one deliberate nod in agreement with herself, swiftly turned her little body towards the coffee shop, and jetted down the path towards her hot milk.

This morning I was tidying the house while Gracen happily played with her chocolate play dough. My cleaning frenzy was interrupted by a very pleased voice announcing, “Mama, shoe! Shoe!” I turned to see this. Oh, my little monkey. How I love her and her crazy little ideas.

Just a regular shopping afternoon at Costco.
♥
Gracen: (standing 5 feet away while pretending to rub hands together) Dry, dry, dry, Mama? Hands dry, dry, dry?
Mama: Are you hands wet, Grae?
Gracen: (slowly nodding while shaking her head) Dirty.
Mama: Your hands are dirty? Do you mean ‘wash, wash, wash’?
Gracen: (nodding, cautiously shows hand with thumb and pointer all covered in orange-ish guck, worried look on her face) Mama happy? Mama happy?
Mama: (puzzled and running through the laundry list of things that could be the source of the guck)
Gracen: (now nodding purposefully and looking as though she’s trying to convince me of the fact that I am indeed feeling happy) Happy Mama?
Mama: (stern mommy voice in play) What did you get into, Lulu?
Gracen: Nooooo. Mama happy!
Mama: Show Mama what you were touching.
Gracen: (puts head down and reluctantly walks to the kitchen)
Mama: (quickly surveying the scene) What were you touching, Grae?
Gracen: (slowly raises arm and points to counter with the fruit bowl on it)
Mama: (sees the step stool pulled up to the counter and a very ripe mango with a giant finger poke hole in it)
Gracen: (cocks head to the side and stretches on a forced little smile) Mama happy?

Without thinking, I put some apple slices and grapes on Gracen’s plate next to her hot cereal this morning. Harmless, right? Well, the moment I set it down in front of her, she started jamming the two together while announcing, “Apple – car! Apple – car! Apple – car, pleasche, Mamaaaaa!” I should’ve known… They are one of her all-time favourite snacks after all. So out came a piece of spaghetti, and in no time the little lady had a fleet of cars to zoom around her plate. Of course, she drove each one for a few seconds and then promptly disassembled them. Then it was on to feeding Num (a.k.a. a tiny Hello Kitty figurine that she carries around everywhere). Breakfast as usual with our little monkey.
A while back Gracen learned how to count {to two!} and she’s been counting things ever since. This morning I took a little video of her counting the stairs to send to her grandparents, and when we arrived home this evening from picking up Papa, she wanted me to take another. She waited until I got my phone out, then began climbing when she knew I was good and ready. Obviously she lost track of what she was demonstrating, and when Papa asked if she was going to keep counting, it was back down to the bottom again! My favourite part is her full-on army crawl up the stairs by the end. I have no idea what that was all about, but it was hilarious.
Miss G’s very favourite song with actions.
I apologize for you having to endure a full 45 seconds of my singing, but I assure you, the cuteness of the actions and dancing is worth it. ☺
I know that beds are meant for sleeping, but sometimes you just have to break the rules and have a good jump. ☺
