Our little lady is doing really well with using the toilet, and although we started putting her on the potty when we saw that she needed to go, she is now {almost always} able to tells us when she needs to go number one or two on her own. Yes, it sometimes means a gazillion trips to the bathroom, but she’s able to keep her diaper completely clean and dry for up to 10 hours at a time. Yay, Grae! That being said, if there is no one around to hear or see her requests to go to the bathroom, there is still the occasional dirty diaper. Today that’s exactly what happened. She was busy playing and by the time she came to tell Papa that she needed to go, it was already too late. Let me tell you – poopy cloth diapers are not fun. This was so much “fun” that it ended in an impromptu sink bath!

It was a rainy day today and we had a ton of stuff to get done around the house. Grae was a pretty good sport about it all. She played and read books all morning. Here she’s reading her alphabet book (albeit upside down) and signing ‘hat’ because she’s on the H page. :)

She actually really loved this park. There were several pieces of equipment that were new to her and she was up for trying them all.

Okay, so maybe not her happiest moment, but this little monkey has recently discovered that she can lick off a spread without actually eating the toast or cracker the it’s put on. Today she attempted to slurp up all of the almond butter off of her rice cake without actually taking a bite. What a tricky little thing.

Apparently it was quite funny!

Have I mentioned how COLD Canada is??? Not that I’m complaining, because the crisp air has been a very welcomed change, but goodness gracious, do we ever bundle up for our morning walks now! I still go with my hot coffee in hand, and Gracen gets a cup of warmed milk as well as her Fashy sheep (his belly is a hot water bottle holder). Oh, and today she decided to bring her jingle bells along just for fun. You sure could hear us coming! She shook them the entire way and gave a few fellow walkers a good giggle. :)

Gracen has a new habit of standing against the window and repeatedly banging (albeit lightly) her head against the glass. When I tell her, “Grae, we don’t bang our heads against the window”, she smirks slowly and continues to do it until I go and move her to a new location. Am I the only one with a little weirdo on my hands?

Today Grae and I walked down to the mailbox to send a few things off to family members… It still seems sort of surreal that we can put things into a metal bin and know that they will make it to their destination in a timely fashion. This would have never worked in Kuwait.

Not to mention spaghetti floor, spaghetti chair, and spaghetti clothes…

We only recently introduced Gracen to corn, not because we’d been purposely putting it off, but because there are so many other nutrient-rich veggies that we wanted to get to first. Tonight she got her first ever cob of corn and was pretty excited about it. She really liked gnawing on the giant cob, but she absolutely hated having the corn stuck in her teeth. She stopped several times, stuck her teeth out at us, and whined with displeasure until we cleaned them out for her. Silly little lady.

So Grae was less than thrilled to have her mouth pried open for a photo, but do you see that molar?

Tadaaaaa!

Grandma Charlotte bought Gracen these recycled material blocks while she was in town, and as a result, our little Graezilla is back…

What would a day out with the ladies be without a mini photo shoot? First up – baby group shot! Aren’t Grae’s little friends sweet? Ainsley (on the left) is almost 10 months old, Jackson (in the middle) is just about 12 months, and Gracen is 13 and half months old.

Once she’d given up on her hopes of having pizza, Gracen happily watched the birds as she ate and wasn’t the least bit afraid (unlike her Mama) of them flying dangerously close to our heads.
