Bum Pockets & Guck Sacks {A Drawing by Miss G}

‘Mama, this is you while you were in the hospital. I even made your IV and your bed’s bum pocket and don’t worry – your guck sacks coming out of your tummy are on the other side – that’s why you can’t see them. Oh. I also gave you a mousey friend under your bed so you won’t be so lonely at night. That part’s not real, but that’s okay, right?’

Family Portrait Embroidery Hoop

As simple and quick as this project was, Gracen and I had so much fun with it today! It only required 5 materials and took us around 20 minutes from start to finish, but gosh I love our new family portrait embroidery hoop. I may be a little bit biased, but I think it’s just adorable and it makes for a fun way to display some of Miss G’s never-ending artwork, which I love.

Recently Grae’s interest in drawing and colouring (especially colouring) has absolutely taken off. While she’s really into drawing people right now, today she drew her first ever dog. I get such a kick out of these things! ☺

A Seat

“Mama, I made you a seat. You’re sitting on it and I’m sitting in your lap.”

This was brought to me while I was getting ready this morning. Miss G thought of the idea, retrieved her supplies, cut and folded her paper, and did the drawing 100% on her own. My mama heart is still melting.
