Mmmm… Orange creamsicle green smoothie. My absolute favourite at the moment. So good I could drink one every morning and then again every afternoon as a little pick-me-up. And even though Grae seems to be not be all that into smoothies at the moment, she almost always slurps this one up until there’s nothing left.
Here’s the line-up of ingredients… A generous amount of greens {we usually use spinach or kale}, 2 oranges, a banana, some mango {peaches or apple are equally as good}, a big splash of pure orange juice {optional but yummy}, some pure vanilla {the magic ingredient!}, and cold water.
Now simply chuck all of it in your blender and blend for 45 seconds or so. If you’re worried about your greens not blending fully, you can blend them with just the water first, but even with this cheapy Kuwait blender, we don’t find that necessary.
If you want to make it extra nutritious, add some hemp hearts, chia seeds, and / or ground flax. We almost always add both chia and hemp hearts because they’re both fully of nutrients, but neither change or add to the flavour of the finished smoothie.
Pour into glasses or jars and serve. Delicious!
Orange Creamsicle GREEN Smoothie
- 2 oranges, peeled
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/2 cup of mango or peaches {or 1 small granny smith apple peeled and cored}
- 2 generous cups of spinach or kale
- 1 big splash of pure orange juice {optional, but definitely amps up the flavour}
- 1 tablespoon of pure vannila
- 2 cups of cold water
- chia seeds and/or hemp hearts if desired
Side note: Make sure at least one of your ingredients is frozen. For this smoothie, we usually use a frozen banana and frozen mango, but we often buy the big tubs of organic spinach and put them straight into the freezer, so sometimes our greens are frozen too.
Put everything in the blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses or jars and serve cold! This recipe makes 2 really big smoothies plus a little one – perfect for our family of three. ☺

We’d love to have you!
I didn’t have mango so put can’t elope in it and Kaylee loved it. Thanks!
Sounds wonderful! We’ve been enjoying smoothies a lot lately, and that looks great!
Best *green* smoothie ever! A small clamshell of spinach is not enough, yet the large and more cost efficient boxes are a bit too much for us to get through before they turn to tired and wilted “use to be’s”. Well, this recipe solves that problem! This smoothie is DELICIOUS! PS, I really enjoyed your chocolate smoothie recipe, too!
