Today, after a morning at home that started out really well and ended quite poorly, we got a last minute invitation to join some friends at the Hilton before heading to their place for dinner. I {being me} was beginning to go absolutely stir crazy and needed to get out of the apartment, so I jumped at the opportunity, prepared a salad and a veggie tray with homemade dip, and had us all packed up and ready to go in 35 minutes. I’m so glad I said yes. It turned out to be an absolutely lovely afternoon filled with sunshine, play, good friends, and delicious food, and it doesn’t get much better than that.

We’d love to have you!
I’m glad to hear you have those moments too where you just want to break out of your four walls. I was beginning to think you were invincible and just did activities with Miss G all day!
Oh, goodness NO, Brigette! I’d lose my mind!!! I’m very much a person who needs to get out and about each day and I think it’s good to get kids outside too, so we are almost always out of the house from about 9:30 to 12:30. Then we come home for lunch and quiet play, and head back outside to our courtyard for an hour or two in the afternoon before dinner, bath, and bedtime routine. The activities are snuck in somewhere in between. :D
Oooooh, that’s sooo good to know. I’ve been going crazy lately as to what to do with my 3.5 year old now that she’s not having her 3 to 4 hour naps anymore and I’ve often wondered how you do it. Sometimes she’ll only last 10 minutes on an activity and it’s too hot to go outside. I go to my Pinterest pins for ideas but sometimes she’s just not interested … I resort to TV (we have ABC4Kids here in Perth, Australia) which keeps me sane on those days. Other days she’ll get right into her activities. She’s very much a role playing girl – loves her dolls/friends and plays out scenarios which is the cutest thing! Thank you for filling me in on that. It makes me feel part human again! Ha!
