Cupcake Liner Flower Wreath

Cupcake Liner Flower Wreath | Mama Papa Bubba

Our apartment door has a little hook attached to the middle of it, so naturally, it needs a wreath.  In the fall we usually have our poppy wreath out there, then in winter we switch it up for the Christmas wreath Miss G made long ago, and then in spring, we usually have a little egg carton flower wreath Miss G made back when I was teaching classes at Bright Minds.  This spring, however, it was time for a change.  We needed something a little more bright and colourful {and we needed to use up all of the pretty Wilton cupcake liners we brought over from Canada}.

LEGO Minifigure Mini Bath Station | Mama Papa Bubba

Okay, so I’m fairly certain we’ve gone off the deep end with this LEGO minifigure mini bath station, but hey – Miss G loved it. In fact, she thought it was the cutest, silliest, most fun thing ever!  Win.

Play Dough LEGO Minifigures | Mama Papa Bubba

While I didn’t have anything LEGO-inspired planned for today, Miss G and I had a little bit of downtime this afternoon and while brainstorming, we remembered the laminated LEGO people printouts we paired with plasticine for last summer’s house boating trip…. Perfect!

Take Along LEGO Tic Tac Toe | Mama Papa Bubba

Grae and I love playing tic-tac-toe.  We play it down in the courtyard with sidewalk chalk, we play it at the beach in the sand, and we play it at restaurants with napkins and pens.  So why not play with LEGO too?!

Exploring Symmetry With LEGO Butterflies | Mama Papa Bubba

As you may or may not already know, this week Miss G and I are participating in a fun-filled ‘LEGO Week’ with a bunch of other blogging friends, which basically means that we’re dedicating the week to sharing activities and projects inspired by LEGO!

LEGO.  Miss G’s been into it in a big way for sometime now, so when some blogging friends made mention of an entire week dedicated to LEGO-inspired fun, I jumped aboard as quickly as I could.

Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site Play Dough Kit

Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site Play Dough Kit | Mama Papa Bubba

After his dad’s Facebook post about the number of times the word ‘and’ shows up in the book Where the Wild Things Are, I knew that we had to get today’s birthday boy a new book {something with more than 8 sentences, preferably – that nifty fact also learned through a FB post about  the dreaded/beloved Where the Wild Things Are ☺}.

Handprint Memory Box

Handprint Memory Box | Mama Papa Bubba

I’ll say it.  I’m obsessed with all projects/crafts/gifts that include kids’ handprints.  Alright, and those that involve footprints too.  I can’t help myself.  They’re just so sweet and having special pieces stamped with Miss G’s handprints means that I get to freeze time and always have a reminder of how little she once was.

Preschool Book Club weeks are the best weeks. ☺  Miss G and I love exploring books and coming up with engaging, playful activities to go with them.  And the best part?  When we’re done with ours, we get to try the activities our friends at Buggy and Buddy, Sugar Aunts, Frogs Snails and Puppy Dog Tails, and Homegrown Friends came up with too!  So much fun.

Cupcake Play Dough Kit

Cupcake Play Dough Kit | Mama Papa Bubba

Another birthday party, another play dough kit. ☺  I don’t think we can help it.  I mention an upcoming birthday party, and Miss G automatically thinks, ‘play dough kit!!!’  This one, a cupcake play dough kit, was actually inspired by the little cupcake play dough favours that we gave out at Miss G’s very low-key birthday celebration we had here in Kuwait.

Upcycled Shoebox Dollhouse | Mama Papa Bubba

Without a functioning recycling system where we live, I tend to hoard recyclables in hopes of putting them to good use at some point.  Tin cans, cardboard flat packs, paper rolls, glass milk bottles…  You name it, we’ve got it.

Rainbow Water Xylophone

Rainbow Water Xylophone | Mama Papa Bubba

As we stared out the window at the blanket of dust covering Mahboula and wondered what to do with the last bit of our day today, I realized that we’d have to come up with something fun to do indoors.  Selfishly, I wanted it to be something that was fairly quick and easy to pull together, but at the same time, I wanted it to be something that would keep Miss G happily engaged for a while. That’s when I remembered all of the glass milk bottles I’ve been squirrelling away for the last several months in hopes of putting them to good use.  I figured they’d be perfect for creating a rainbow water xylophone and it really doesn’t get much easier than filling a bunch of glass jars with water and a couple of drops of food colouring, does it?!
